On the show today we have Trey Harris of P.L.U.T.O basketball. Pluto stands for Players Like Us Take Over.
Trey gives a look into the world of elite high school basketball! He trains a lot of top athletes and currently works with Team USA basketball on the U17 level.
Coach Harris has always had a passion for basketball. He began his career at Mitchell High School here in Colorado Springs, CO. The Gazette named him the most “electrifying” player in the area and named him Pikes Peak D11 Most Valuable Player and being voted All-Area and All-Conference with All-State recognition. These honors helped Harris earn a scholarship to McCook Community College in Nebraska.
In two seasons at McCook, Harris averaged 16 points and 4 assists while shooting 43% behind the three-point line. He earned All-Region and All-Conference honors, as well as a spot on the Omaha World-Herald’s All-Nebraska Junior College team. He caught the attention of NCAA Division I University of California-Irvine’s attention, and they offered him a full-ride scholarship to continue his education.
As a junior at UC-Irvine, Harris played in 19 games shooting 42.6% from the field, 45.5% from behind the arc and 73.3% from the free-throw line. He decided to finish out his college image (1)career at Kentucky Weselyan College (KWC), a top NCAA Division II team.
Coach Harris’ post-college career included participation in Chicago’s Top Notch Basketball Camp, Los Angeles Nike Pro City League, LA Summer Pro League, and Las Vegas Summer Pro League. Harris also was the starting point guard in the 6th Gran Canaria summer league (Spanish ACB League) and now he’s on the show!

“There I was with this kid who wanted to follow his dream of playing pro basketball and, as a non-basketball parent, I had no idea how to make it happen. When I asked others, I constantly heard things like – ‘You just have to be good and people will find you.’ I knew that waiting for the phone to ring couldn’t be the key to success. So I started digging and I found out that, like every career, there is an actual path that you MUST take to even have a chance. I am excited to share my findings with you. Let’s work together to make this happen for our little and not-so-little ballers!” – Troy Horne See you inside episode 26! Troy and Moses Horne hoopchalk.com
